A perfect combination of aesthetics, functionality and sustainability
The Active Residence building, which was completed in 2018, was designed by Herman and Partners Associated Architects. What was their vision for the project? “We aimed at a minimalistic design featuring both modern and functional architectural forms, as well as elements referring to nature. The latter aspect was particularly important to us - the Active Residence building is located in the vicinity of the Saski Garden - a beautiful, large city park, which is an oasis of peace and greenery. We wanted the complex to correspond well with its natural surroundings.”
For this project, the facade boards of Rockpanel proved to be the perfect solution. “The use of Rockpanel Woods cladding made it possible to perfectly reconcile aesthetics, functionality and ecology. The unique facade of the building creates an impressive and noble look. In addition, the Rockpanel boards are ideally aligned with one of the key aspects of the project – sustainable strategy.” The boards are made from compressed stone wool, produced from basalt – a natural renewable and widely available volcanic rock. The boards can be fully recycled afterwards and are also fire resilient by nature.
