A modern house with a fresh, sleek appearance

In the Belgian village Moerzeke, Wim Smekens, owner of Smekens Constructors BVBA, has clad his own house with Rockpanel exterior cladding. As a contractor specialising in roofs and facades, he already knew the product very well. Thanks to his many positive experiences, there was no doubt that he would choose Rockpanel products for his own home.

In the first instance, Wim Smekens had covered his house, which was originally built in 2010, with insulation and decorative plaster. “This caused some problems,” he explains. “Therefore we decided to reclad our house with Rockpanel facade boards. I always recommend Rockpanel to my customers, because I really like working with it. Why? It’s so easy to work with! The installation of the boards went perfectly.” Other advantages he namesare the light weight of the boards and the fact that they don’t shrink or expand. This way, you can create beautiful lines with very narrow joints.  

Wim Smekens cladded his entire house with Rockpanel and used 250 m² of the boards. By choosing the colour RAL 9010, identical to the window frames of his modern-looking house, the complete picture now looks beautiful and fresh. Wim Smekens is very much satisfied with the result: “We absolutely love the way everything looks now. We’re also very happy with all the details. We’ve painted all the corner edges of the boards and paid attention to finishing the areas around our windows in the best way. All joints are nice and equal. We have even looked at details such as the colour of our ventilation grilles. Of course, it was quite a step to clad a full house with facade boards, but we are very happy with how it all turned out.”
