Parafon factory clad with unique facade panels that fit in - and stand out

Elegant look that promotes creativity 

It was Rockpanel who was commissioned by the ROCKWOOL Group's management to find aesthetic alternatives that show the possibilities with Rockpanel's unique facade solutions. They chose to turn to JKAB Arkitekter to come up with ideas on how to use the facade panels to create unique facades for the state-of-the-art facility. Oscar Selemba, chief architect at JKAB Arkitekter, says: “We sketched out various proposals and finally landed on one that brought out the elegance and playfulness of the facade panels. We chose three colours from the Rockpanel Woods line in soft and light shades that complement each other in a nice way. We did not want to create a building that was too dark, but wanted it to be lit up and seen a little. We showed the playfulness of the panels by cutting them in patterns that can be seen in the distance, with oblique angles and triangles. The result is a factory that really stands out from the crowd, while at the same time fitting into the cityscape of the future.” 

More focus on aesthetics 

Parafon's new facility is approximately 13,500 square meters in size and brings together product development, sales, marketing department, customer service and production under one roof - for improved collaboration and better warehousing opportunities. 

Oscar Selemba sees the investment in architecture and the aesthetic character in Parafon’s new factory as extra positive: “We think it’s important to not forget the logistics buildings. Not just public buildings, homes and other traditional architect-designed houses should be nice and fit into the cityscape. It’s also about the industrial buildings, especially as these areas continue to be developed and built closer to cities and major roads. And then it's good that there is a product that lands right in all respects - in this case Rockpanel Woods.” 

He concludes: “With Rockpanel's facade panels, you get an affordable product that you can have fun with. They have many good functional properties, but it's also fun that Rockpanel now shows how you can actually dress an entire building of this size with their solutions without it having to be so expensive. We are very satisfied with the result and happy to be part of this project.”
