New Rockpanel Stones and Rockpanel Colours façade cladding boards have given the eight buildings of the La Marinière residence in Brétigny-sur-Orge (France), originally built in 1969, a contemporary look. But there’s more than meets the eye – the renovation also has a major contribution to energy performance and fire protection.
The La Marinière residence in Brétigny-sur-Orge, located south of Paris, has received a thorough energy renovation, that was completed end of 2020. The energy efficiency improved from energy label F to label C, which means the energy consumption was been reduced with about 2/3. The eight buildings, owned by GCD Habitat, contain 200 housing units and were radically transformed, also in terms of aesthetics. AIP Architects took the opportunity to recompose the facades of the buildings, which now look more contemporary thanks to a mix of materials. The Rockpanel cladding – Rockpanel Stones Mineral Chalk and Rockpanel Colours were used here – stands out with their freedom of design, durability, resistance, contribution to thermal insulation and fire safety.
